Angela is a wonderful host and provided us with a welcome hamper and cakes on arrival for a wee afternoon tea; a gift as we had just got married. To top it off, we spotted that the ducks in the kitchen had little name tags with our names on them! Such a lovely personal touch. The property itself is clean, comfortable, and very cosy. The hot tub is a fab addition and the roll-top tub is a must for having a chilled-out bath in! My new husband described it as exceptional and I can't help but agree! We will endeavour to be back in the future!”

“I stayed at Eider cottage in a group of four for my boyfriend’s 21st birthday and I couldn't have faulted it in any way. We arrived later than expected due to traffic, and Angela was as accommodating as ever, with everything from the freshly made cake to the welcome hamper and even a lovely present for my boyfriend! We had a quick tour and were given instructions on how to use things, then we were left to our own devices. After exploring the cottage further, which may I add is beautiful, we very quickly got ready and jumped in the hot tub where we spent 90% of our time! It was so relaxing and peaceful! The entire stay was brilliant and we're already planning a second adventure to Holmfirth to stay in Eider again. We had an amazing time and really didn't want to come home! My two best friends got engaged during our stay too; the setting was so perfect he couldn't wait any longer after bringing the ring with him to show me! We can't wait to come back and spend more time in the cottage and hopefully see the ducks with our names on again - they were also a highlight for everyone!”

The cottage is stunning, well-kept, and well-equipped. Angela provided all the essentials and extras to make us feel welcome. The hot tub was a great addition and aided in relaxation. It was lovely and warm despite sitting out in January. The area is so peaceful and you can sit and look at the stars for hours. The log-burning fire was lovely, even if I didn't ever succeed in keeping a fire going for more than an hour! “Beautiful cottage in a secluded yet central location. Cosy and clean with great facilities throughout. Angela was on hand when I arrived in the evening to direct me from the bus stop (a two-minute walk from the property), and was very helpful in showing me necessary information and providing tips for walks and places to eat and drink. “This cottage was fantastic from the moment we got there. The place is very spacious and meticulous, and is great for a getaway as a couple. Angela catered fantastically for my girlfriend’s dietary requirements (lactose and gluten intolerant) and gave a little hamper to us on arrival with our favourite treats. The hot tub is great and I highly recommend it. Great jets and space in there too. There's a big roll-top bath in the massive bathroom with Ralph Lauren™ towels. All over the cottage it’s this attention to detail and high-quality furnishings that make it worth three times what we paid for our stay. This place is a little bit of luxury in the picturesque village of Holmfirth. It is in a great location with surrounding restaurants and pubs. “We absolutely loved the cottage. It was right across the street from the theatre we attended and was much larger than we anticipated. The hot tub was wonderful on the two cold days we were there, and the wood stove looked very inviting. Unfortunately, we weren't at the house enough to use it! Maybe next time. The owners are wonderful people who do a great job making the cottage a very inviting place. We devoured everything in the welcome basket. They obviously are very proud of their cottage and it shows. The village is beautiful and the price was fantastic. We will return.”

Things to Note

We politely ask that you make sure to protect the wooden surfaces with the coasters and stands provided. You are more than welcome to take away any contents of the basket that we provide, however please leave the actual basket behind. This also applies to bathrobes, towels, large bottles/dispensers, and kitchen essentials, such as olive oil containers. Please ensure you leave our cottage as you find it and report any damage or breakages immediately.

Polite Reminders

Smoking is only permitted in the garden and not in the hot tub or inside the cottage. We do ask that you remove any cigarette ends. Pets are also asked to be well-behaved and remain downstairs in the kitchen or drying room/cycle store. Overall, we like to make sure that the peaceful nature of the setting is fully respected.

Hot Tub Use

Please do not take the designer bath sheets, bathrobes, and slippers provided outside to the hot tub. We do ask that you provide your own towels, appropriate footwear, and robes for outside use. You are more than welcome to request towels for outside use at an additional cost. Please take care not to slip on the steep stone steps. We politely ask that you shower before using the hot tub and dry yourself before walking through the house. You must wear swimwear at all times when in the garden or hot tub.
